Start with the help you need

Is your checkout broken, do you need regular updates, or are you changing developers? These are different jobs. One team may do all three, but ask what each job includes and what it costs.

Explain how people buy from your store. Mention subscriptions, wholesale prices, local pickup or anything else the team will need to check. Updating WordPress alone does not tell you whether those parts still work.

If customers cannot place an order, start with WooCommerce troubleshooting. If you need someone to take over a working store, use the store handover checklist to prepare.

Compare support options in Indianapolis

Ask how you will work together. Can the team visit your premises, or are meetings online? A nearby team may help with equipment or staff training. For code, updates and troubleshooting, look at how the work is handled.

We checked these providers’ published offers on October 20, 2026. Confirm the current terms before joining a plan. Religh publishes this guide and is included below as a remote option.

When remote support fits your store, look at the work a team can show you. AXXZIA is our WooCommerce project for a UAE skincare business, covering storefront development, design, performance and technical SEO. It gives you a real project to review alongside the support questions in this guide.

Ask what happens before and after an update

Ask the team to walk you through a normal update. Who makes the backup? Where do they test the change? Who approves it, and who checks a purchase afterwards?

Religh raccoons planning store work together.
  • Use a separate test store that cannot take real payments or send messages to customers.
  • Check payments, tax, shipping, order emails and any special pricing you use.
  • Agree how to undo a failed change without losing orders placed since the backup.
  • Know who to contact, when they are available and how they will respond.

Ask what happens outside the agreed support hours. A monthly care plan does not automatically include emergency help at any time.

Keep your first message simple

Send your public store address and explain what you need help with. If something is broken, say when it started and what customers or staff cannot do. Mention important plugins or connected systems if you know them. Hide customer and payment details in screenshots.

Do not send passwords, customer exports or payment credentials. First agree what the review will cover and what it costs. Then arrange secure access to the parts the team needs.

If you are changing developers, ask for your custom code, license details, backup location and unfinished work. Check that the new team has the right access before removing the old team. Our store handover service is a place to start that conversation.

Choose a team you can keep working with

Compare the cost of fixing current problems, taking over the store and regular care separately. Ask what time is included, who pays for plugin renewals, whether you need to change hosting, and how extra work is approved.

Keep control of your accounts and code. Ask how you can leave the plan and hand the store to someone else later.

Religh works remotely. If you need a team to visit you in Indianapolis, check that with a local provider. If remote help suits you, see our AXXZIA storefront and search results. It is our work for a UAE skincare store. You can also explore our other store projects.

Before you choose, you should know who handles the next step, what it costs and how your store will be checked.

Common questions

Do I need a developer based in Indianapolis?

A local team can be useful when you need visits or on-site work. Remote support can suit code, updates and troubleshooting when access, testing, communication and support hours are agreed.

Can a new team support a store it did not build?

Ask before joining a plan. The team needs to check the store, custom code, licenses and existing problems. The first review and any repairs may cost extra.

Will a maintenance plan fix an existing checkout problem?

Ask before you sign up. Finding and fixing the problem may be separate from routine care. Explain what is happening and agree the investigation before anyone makes changes.
