A useful starting point

How do your
business buyers order?

01 / Retail and wholesale

One store.
Different buying rules.

Decide what public visitors and approved business buyers should see, from product access to prices and payment options.

02 / An approved buyer network

The right account.
The right access.

Plan registration, approval and buyer groups around the customers your team serves, with clear responsibility for account changes.

03 / Orders handled by your team

Less back and forth.
A clearer order path.

Map the details buyers need to submit an order, the checks your team makes and the repeat-order tasks worth bringing into the store.

Your sales rules.
Built into the store.

A useful B2B setup starts with specific buying rules. We agree the account states, price logic and order scenarios before choosing extensions or custom work.

Scroll down to explore the development work, or swipe across the cards. When this row is focused, use Left and Right, or Home and End.

A B2B store your
team can run.

The handover connects the configured store to the people who approve buyers, maintain prices and fulfil orders.

01 / The buyer model

Accounts and permissions, explained.

Buyer roles, approval states and catalog access, with the account-management tasks assigned to your team.

02 / The buying flow

Order rules with checked examples.

Representative prices, quantity limits, shipping and checkout scenarios, with the results and any limitations recorded.

03 / Data and ownership

Know where changes belong.

The owner of customer records, prices, stock and orders, plus the responsibilities for any agreed connected systems.

04 / Practical notes

A guide for everyday tasks.

Access and licence ownership, release notes, routine administration and next steps for work outside the agreed build.

Agree the rules.
Check every buyer journey.

Start with your customers and the steps behind a business order.

  • List buyer types and account states
  • Record pricing and ordering rules
  • Identify data and policy owners

Turn the sales process into a bounded build and test plan.

  • Define access and approval flows
  • Check extension and integration fit
  • Agree representative test orders

Review the store on a suitable test copy before release.

  • Configure roles and catalog rules
  • Verify prices and quantity limits
  • Test checkout as each buyer type

Publish approved work with the checks and responsibilities recorded.

  • Confirm backup and release approval
  • Run the agreed smoke checks
  • Explain the routine admin tasks

A clear estimate.
A shared plan.

The scope follows your buyer model, commercial rules and existing systems. A shared retail and wholesale store needs different decisions from a private ordering portal.

What shapes a B2B store estimate?

Buyer roles, pricing complexity, catalog restrictions and ordering flows shape the build. We separate supported extension configuration from custom work.

Extension licences, data cleanup, imports and ERP connections are identified separately unless explicitly included.

What affects the build schedule?

Agreed pricing rules, representative product data and access to the existing setup help define the schedule. External integrations and policy decisions may need their owners involved.

Review time, acceptance scenarios and the release window are agreed before launch. Any customer-data move requires its own backup and verification plan.

Tell us what you sell, who your business buyers are and how prices, approvals and orders work today. Include the store URL and any systems that own customer, price or stock data. Plan the rules behind a wholesale store.

your B2B store.

All field notes

Before we plan your B2B store.

Can retail and wholesale share one store?

Yes, a shared setup can be assessed around your buyer roles, catalog and pricing rules. We first establish how different the journeys need to be and check whether the proposed setup supports them.

Can each customer have their own prices?

Customer-specific or buyer-group pricing can be scoped once the source of the prices and the update process are clear. Quantity tiers, discounts, tax display and variations need representative examples for validation.

Can buyers apply for a wholesale account?

Registration and approval can follow an agreed workflow with defined account states and permissions. Your team decides which information is needed, who approves an account and when access changes.

How do you check restricted prices and products?

We test the agreed rules as a public visitor, a pending account and each relevant buyer type. Checks include direct links, search and relevant store requests; hiding a menu or price label alone is not an access-control check.

Can we offer quotes, purchase orders or payment terms?

These flows can be scoped around your approval steps and order process. Your business supplies the credit, tax and commercial policies; extension and gateway compatibility must be checked before implementation.

Can the store connect to our ERP or existing customer data?

We assess the available interfaces, access rights and record ownership before choosing an integration. Imports and connections need explicit matching, update, failure and recovery rules, so they are separate work unless included in the agreed scope.
